Three session classes combining media to make paintings, altered books or 'shadow boxes'. A variety of materials and techniques will be used to explore visual representation, symbolism, color, and texture. Techniques include experimentation with various adhesives while incorporating paper, fabrics, transfers, wax, and found objects. Each class will feature demonstrations as well as time to work in a supportive atmosphere. Most materials provided, but students will be encouraged to bring additional supplies.

About the Instructor:
As an artist, educator, and museum professional, Aylin Green has dedicated her life to creating and sharing art experiences. Her own artwork focuses on mixed media techniques and transforming old materials into paintings and sculpture. Aylin holds a Masters of Ed from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts in Boston, MA, and a BFA in Sculpture from Mason Gross School of the Arts/Rutgers. She has taught classes for adults and children in a variety of media from experimental to traditional in a range of educational settings that include private studios, city and county programs, public schools, and at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ.
